Tutor Biographies

Guna Ramachandran is Industry Development Manager for Nalco Pacific Energy Services Division. He has over 27 years of water treatment experience. He started his career in the Middle East (in the eighties) and was involved in commissioning major Refineries and Petrochemicals Plants on Cooling, Boiler and Waste Water treatment. After relocating to South East Asia 17 years ago, he was involved in sales in the field of industrial water treatment. Since 2003 he has been in involved in consulting and training, customer audits and
seminars primarily in downstream petrochemical and refining industries. Guna has a B Tech (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Bradford University and a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers UK.

Jeffrey Gardenhire graduated with an Engineering BS degree from Texas A&M University. He has worked in the refining industry for over 20 years, with 16 years concentrating on industrial wastewater treatment for Nalco. Most recently, he has worked as global technical consultant for wastewater in the refining and petrochemical industry.

Newton Calumpang is the Principal Consultant for Nalco Pacific Energy Services. He has over 32 years of water treatment experience covering Asia and Middle East. The last 14 years of which have been devoted mainly in areas of troubleshooting, training, customer audits, customer seminars of all major customers in the heavy industrial segments and downstream petroleum industries. Newton has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Mapua Institute of Technology at Manila, Philippines.

Jeroen Koppes, born in the Netherlands, has a MS degree in Wastewater Engineering and over 12 years experience in industrial wastewater treatment. One of his specialization is biological conversion processes that take place in aerobic and anaerobic treatment plants. Jeroen started his career with the Nalco's research team in Europe where he worked on developing wastewater and membrane technologies for the European market place. Jeroen currently lives in Singapore and works now as a Product Manager Wastewater for Nalco's Asia Pacific division.

Arghya Roy is the Industry Development Manager - Water Centric for Nalco Pacific , Energy Services Division and located in Singapore. He has 18 years industry experience, 4 years in Combustion Engineering & Fuel Handling Systems and the next 14 years in Water Treatment. As a field engineer, he was associated with commissioning and start up of Cooling Water systems in several Refinery & Petrochemical Greenfield Projects. Over the last 3 years, he has been responsible for introducing & developing Nalco's advanced automation technologies in the Asia Pacific region. Arghya graduated with B.Sc. degree with Physics Honours from Kolkata University, India and received Masters in Business Administration from Institute of Business Management, Jadavpur University,India.
